Tokyo Train
A watercolour painting on rag paper - The scene is from a quiet train in Tokyo on the way back from Daikanyama T-Site, Tokyo, one of the most beautiful bookstores ever. Designed by Klein Dytham Architecture. I was off to meet a friend who I hadn't seen for years what with him living on the otherside of the world.
It represents the transient nature of connections we have in this world. Meeting strangers on a train. Skipping between towns to meet old friends. Quietly watching the world go by from an empty train, on a hot summers day, in a city you lived in once many years ago but no longer belong to.
56×76 cm
