This time a trip through the glorious countryside of Fukushima. Travelling on a small train towards Ouchijuku from Aizuwakamatsu. The train takes you to the end of the line through the mountains to a train station with a cute thatched roof and a hot spring footpath that's free to use while you wait for your train. From there, it's a connecting bus to the old samurai post town where travellers would stop en route through the mountains. Everything is thatched and wooden. There are streams that run alongside with fire hydrants hidden below in case of a fire. The roofs are laden with snow in the winter. The calm of the train travelling through the quiet countryside is perfect. The fields and fields of rice like something out of a quiet anime.
